You are probably one of the best math teachers/professors that I have had. You actually explained the material in a clear and concise way that made it easy to understand. Your teaching style was able to help me understand almost everything that I had a question about.

Professor Stipe is a really great professor and you can tell he loves his job and he is very good at it. I have no doubt that if I had any question, Professor Stipe would not stop finding different ways of explaining it until I understood. I really enjoyed being in his class and benefited very much from my time in supplemental calculus. I felt that in my regular calc with [other professor], I often left the lectures feeling confused about the topics and how to apply them. Professor Stipe always did a great job of going out of his way to make sure every student does their best. He always spent lots of time creating practice quizzes and exams that we did not receive in [our regular calculus class]. He also made an answer key for every question we ever had to solve in class to make sure no student left confused

He is the most helpful instructor I had all semester. He made doing the math fun. I would take this professor again, ten times out of ten. 

Shawn Stipe is an outstanding teacher who actually cares about his students. He works hard and shows effort to aid their understanding inside and outside of the classroom. All of the homework and additional assignments Professor Stipe had for students related directly to the course content and was increasingly helpful on tests and quizzes. Before every class period, especially on test and quiz days, Professor Stipe was available for multiple hours before the testing period to help students prepare with examples and teaching. He also demonstrated lots of knowledge about the course material and was able to articulate that to the students in a way that they understood. He was very encouraging towards students who were struggling, including myself, and continued to offer support and help them through difficult sections of material. Overall, Mr. Stipe is an excellent calculus teacher who demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of the subject material, outstanding effort to provide students with extra materials, and a positive environment in which to learn the subject. Mr. Stipe is the epitome of what a teacher should be.

Mr. Stipe is an excellent professor. He is very passionate about teaching Calculus and loves to help his students. He is able to fluently simplify complex ideas in a way that is understandable to his students. Mr. Stipe was far and away a better instructor than our normal lecture instructor. I would love to see Mr. Stipe as a full time professor or adjunct at Messiah.
